i just realized what is weak in your current sandpaper detail...
you need to over expose it.
the 'sanding block' needs to be bigger than the frame (extend horizontally)...
it could even follow the entire sweep of the door panel...so that it was always sanding...
you could even use sanding disks that are round...
the movement that gives it vitality is eroding it...right?
so over express this...in the hinge.

a diSk sander is kinda funny too...
but you continue to keep it classy.

Right now I am working on the ribs.. getting them cut and reconsidering their placement. But, as I am putting them together, i will reconder the sandpaper. I like the idea of thickening the block, having it work outside the panel and the joint. I'm not sure about taking it across the enitre panel though..I dont know what it is doing..what would it be sanding? And it would make the striation of the ribs much denser..i have to think about it some more

do you pull strings to open and close the panels?

I was thinking about the performance...giving one person the upper hand in extending and collapsing the screen..the strings might be a nice way to give the hinges specific directionality...the person with the strings could pull towards herself and the panels would fold together around the other person. this allows for some privacy, but also entraps...

that is sounding good...

you can get your pull here...
